Dynamic lines

South Pasadena, CA

Incorporating touches of various styles is what I call "transitionality." It's a mix of influences complementing the elements of a room and bringing up hints of a new vibe.

The owner, Joan, was fully involved throughout the entire process. There is still a debate on how Barbara Barry's themes and style became so obvious. Something in the house hollered to exalt comfort and conviviality. In the kitchen, the island received a Calacatta gold marble countertop to enhance the dynamic lines. At the same time, the hexagonal Ann Sacks glass tile design over the tone-on-tone backsplash adds layers to enhance the kitchen experience. The fireplace became a coveted atemporal element in the opposite corner of this open living space.
