Timeless beauty
San Marino, CA
Built in the 1960s, this traditional home desperately needed a new floor plan to accommodate the new owners’ lifestyle –a young and active family with three boys. The premise was to hold onto the classic feeling with bursts of expression, so we took down a couple of walls to open up the space for the kids while enhancing this conventional feeling with a hip look.
Flickers of vermilion and royal blue yield the eye to the many details of the spacious kitchen but not away from the work-of-art wood floor. The range hood is a custom oil-rubbed bronze piece with painted wood accents matching ambient energy.
